Jim McEntee Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship fund is open solely to community college students in Santa Clara County who are transferring this academic year to a four-year university with junior year status. Students are encouraged to apply who have overcome obstacles to obtain a college education, including but not limited to: racial, religious, minority and/ or immigrant status, LGBTQ, disability, foster child, and/ or poverty. By submitting this application, you agree to receive mentorship by
our organization (if selected) until you graduate. Most first year recipients are eligible for a second year scholarship if enrollment is current and the recipient has been in regular contact with their scholarship mentor. Applications are confidential and will be accepted during the months of February, March, and April 2024.

Deadline: applications must be received by 11:59 pm on May 12, 2024. Recipients will be notified no later than June 10, 2024.

 

Roshan Rahbari Scholarship Fund via Silicon Valley Community Foundation

This scholarship was established in loving memory of Roshan Rahbari, a former student of West Valley Community College and a graduate of Leland High School in San José, California. In his 18 years of life, Roshan touched the lives of many. He believed in harmony among people of different backgrounds and had a rainbow of friends. He was sensitive to the plight of people in need of help and saw everyone as an individual worthy of respect. His dream was to become a psychologist for young people, and it is in his kind spirit that his parents established this scholarship fund to help young people realize their dreams.

Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan

The Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan is a financial aid program intended to expand access to the University of California for lower-income students.

UC's Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan will ensure that you will not have to pay UC's system-wide tuition and fees out of your own pocket if you are a California resident whose total family income is less than $80,000 per year and you qualify for financial aid - and that's just for starters.

Blue and Gold students with sufficient financial need can qualify for even more grant aid to help reduce the cost of attending.

APIA Scholarship Program: Scholarship awards range from one-time $2,500 awards to multi-year $20,000 awards.  APIA Scholars provides scholarships to underserved APAI students with a special focus on those who:

• Live at or below the poverty level, or are otherwise of low socioeconomic status;
• Are the first in their families to attend college;
• Are representative of the APIA community’s diversity, (geographically and ethnically}, especially those ethnicities that have been underrepresented on college campuses due to limited access and opportunity; and
• Have placed a strong emphasis on community service and leadership as well as solid academic achievement.
