Esthetics Program
Esthetics Program Overview
The esthetics staff at San José City College are among the most passionate and well-trained in the nation.
Success Resources
Program
In addition to weekly classes, many of our full-time instructors maintain private practices, providing students with real-world insights. Students can enroll in the Esthetics Program during either the fall or spring semester. Most complete the program in two semesters, with an optional summer session available.
The Esthetics Program at SJCC is a full-time commitment. As a state-funded community college, we offer a comprehensive education at a fraction of the cost compared to private schools, with students paying just $46 per unit.
Throughout the program, students receive hands-on instruction in waxing, facials, back treatments, and makeup application. Upon completion, students earn a Certificate of Achievement in Esthetics.
SJCC graduates are well-prepared to pass the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology exam. To qualify for a state license, students must complete 600 clock hours at a Bureau of Barbering and Cosmetology-approved educational institution.

No Show Policy
After missing two scheduled appointments without providing advance notice, we regret to inform you that we are unable to reschedule any further appointments for the remainder of the semester. Our students have limited opportunities to practice their skills, and no-shows or last-minute cancellations hinder their ability to gain valuable experience.
We understand that emergencies can occur, so please call us at (408) 288-3766 as soon as possible. We can then either reschedule your appointment or assign our student to another client.
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to serving you in the future.
